Managing Partner
Waseef Asghar
Waseef is a very experienced senior professional who has extensive commercial investment experience across all asset classes, different industry sectors, and geographies. He possesses strong experience in origination and structuring investments, taking into account financial, legal, tax, and Shariah parameters. He was responsible for the first Shariah-compliant Real Estate funds to be created, run, and successfully exited in the UK and France. He has also advised on Real Estate Development, Private Equity, Public Equity, and Venture Capital projects.
Waseef is currently a Director in a Bahrain-based company which participates in the purchase and sale of steel exclusively with a JV partner and steel trader.
Waseef was recently Executive Director, Head of Investment at Arbah Capital and personally led all International Investments. This has included a shariah compliant £27m mezzanine loan to a prime residential development in central London, which was successfully exited, the £60m acquisition of the Sauchiehall Building in Glasgow, UK, acquisitions in the US in the Senior Living, Medical Campus, and Industrial sectors totaling nearly $260m. During his 5 year tenure, Waseef was responsible for generating over 80% of the revenue for Arbah Capital and was the major factor in the dramatic turnaround of the bank. Arbah, therefore, made a profit in the last 4 years of Waseef’s tenure, after years of losses, and had a strong 2020 and 2021 despite Covid, closing 4 large transactions in 2020 and 3 in 2021. AUMs have also seen exponential growth from SAR 200m to SAR 3bn in the 5 years from when Waseef joined.
Prior to Arbah Capital, Waseef exclusively focused his attention on Shems LLP for nine years in the UK, which specialized in Investment Advisory, Origination, Brokerage, and Asset Management to HNW and financial institutions. This provided Waseef invaluable direct experience across a wide and comprehensive investment spectrum.
Amongst other mandates, the firm was responsible for asset managing a $1bn portfolio for a HNW client, which had assets including a school, a luxury hotel, a real estate portfolio, and indirect investments. He helped to create a Wealth Management structure for the client and so is fully cognisant of offshore Trust structures and Inheritance Planning considerations.
Prior to this, Waseef was Executive Director at Gulf Finance House based in London for 6 years, heading structuring for Asset Management. He has also worked for EDS and IBM.
His key skills include his broad breadth of experience, professionalism, integrity, the ability to take responsibility, being objective, excellent communication skills, undoubted analytical skills, and risk management. Waseef is able to combine his experience in finance, law, shariah, investment management, and investment structures to provide investors with an end-to-end solution.
He holds an MA from Oxford University in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics and is a qualified CIMA accountant.

Muneeb Asghar
Muneeb is a successful entrepreneur in his own right within the Education sector leading one of the highest performing education franchises for the last 7 years.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant starting with KPMG, working in Financial Advisory as a Transaction Services Executive. He has been involved in deals such as the vendor due diligence and sell side assistance on the sale of JLR by Ford Motor Company to Tata and the vendor due diligence for the sale of Tunstall Group Holdings Ltd to Charterhouse Capital Partners.
Muneeb also specialises in Financial Analysis and Internet Marketing. He holds a BSC honours in Mathematics from Kings College London.

Non Executive Director
Eric Robert Butcher
Eric has over 40 years of experience in engineering and construction of major projects especially in the areas of energy, iron and steel, mining and infrastructure. He was technical Vice President overseeing $4bn of investment in iron and steelproducts for a Mexican government entity for 8 years. For 4 years Eric was Director of Financed Projects and Vice President for Construction for the Mexican national utility and was in charge of installing over $8 bn in electricity related projects including power plants ( 4500 MW), hydroelectric projects ( 1500 MW) geothermal projects ( 300 MW), high power substations and transmission lines from 110 kV to 440 kV for a total of some 4500 km and 5000 MVA. Eric has also worked for Siemens Mexicana S.A., Bechtel Corporation/Bica Industrial S.A., The Nuclear Power Group, UK and CompagniaTechnicaInternationaleTechint S.A. He was also shareholder and Commercial Director for ConstructoraKepler S.A., an EPC contracting company.
Eric has also run private consultancies and been a long standing senior technical advisor for power related projects.
Eric is a Registered Mechanical Electrical Engineer and an Engineering graduate.

Science and Technology
Dr Suleman Ali
Suleman was a patent attorney with J.A. Kemp & Co. for 13 years, rising to partnership level. As partner he handled Intellectual Property (IP) for research companies and universities on an international basis. He advises generally on all science issues and has specialist knowledge in the biotech, pharmaceutical and medical fields. His previous work involved assessment of patent portfolios as well as advising on patent strategy. He has worked with investors looking at early stage research and provided technical and IP due diligence including commercial viability.
Suleman’s clients have included GSK, the Medical Research Council, Imperial Cancer Research and Isis Innovation (the technology transfer arm of Oxford University).
Suleman holds a D.Phil and BA from Oxford University. He is a qualified European Patent Attorney and Chartered Patent Attorney.

Shariah Advisor
Shaykh Haytham Tamim
Shaykh Haytham Tamim is the director of the “Shariah Solutions Ltd”. A consultancy firm in Islamic Finance and is on the Shari’ah supervisory board for Gatehouse Bank PLC (London), Gulf Finance House (UK), Europe Arab Bank (UK) and the chairman of “London school of islamic finance”(UK). He has delivered numerous courses and lectures in Islamic finance including an annual conference with leading Islamic finance scholars. Shaykh has studied Shari’ah for over 20 years and was a senior lecturer in Islamic transactions and comparative Fiqh at the Islamic university of Beirut.
Shaykh Haytham Tamim is also the chairman and founder of Utrujj foundation, a leading Islamic educational institution in the UK. He has provided a leading vision for Islamic learning which has influenced the way Islamic knowledge is disseminated in the UK.
While responsible for orchestrating the design and delivery of over 200 different courses, Shaykh Haytham Tamim’s vast teaching experience has manifested in changing many lives.
